RESULTS

The results of this project will be:

 

* Detailing the European Charter of Sustainable Tourism in wetlands. Result: a manual for infrastructure, accommodation and transport, and the building of sustainable hiking and cycling paths, camp sites, hiking shelters, birdwatching blinds, mooring places for electrically-driven vessels and sustainable ferry links;

 

* An implemented plan of action for branding and promoting sustainable tourism;

 

* A plan of action for visitor management in wetlands (applicable for all partners);

 

* Achieving ICT pilots: GPS routes, digital information on location, etc. ;

 

* Study of and design for the most sustainable visitors’ centre in Europe;

 

* Detailed lists of sustainability criteria for tourist companies + the carrying out of sustainability checks + supporting companies with the implementation of measures;

 

* Developing and marketing sustainable products in collaboration with the business community.
